SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Dr. Tim Hager, vice president and dean of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, the embedded seminary of Evangel University, has announced his resignation. He will be transitioning to an executive leadership position at another institution of higher education.
“I am very appreciative for all the hard work that Tim has done for the seminary over the past four years,” said Dr. George O. Wood, Evangel University interim president. “Tim has played an integral role in the development of AGTS and created a foundation that will continue to impact the Church for generations. I personally wish him the best of success in all future endeavors.”
Hager became dean of AGTS in January of 2018 and has advanced the work of the seminary with a special focus on building relationships with Assemblies of God districts and ministers.
Under his leadership, many key seminary programs were transitioned to a completely online format in an effort to support student recruitment and retention efforts.
Previous to his service at AGTS, Hager served as the chief operating officer for the Assemblies of God National Office for two years and administrator of field operations for U.S. Missions (AGUSM) for seven years. He also has pastoral and district leadership experience in Iowa, Colorado, North Carolina, and Virginia.
A search will begin shortly for the next dean.
