News: Wonsuk Ma, director of Oxford Center for Mission Studies, to lecture at AGTS, December 6
The Intercultural Doctoral Studies Program at AGTS will host a lecture by Wonsuk and Julie Ma Thursday, December 6 from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. in the AGTS chapel. Wonsuk is the director of the Oxford Center for Mission Studies (OCMS), UK. The public is invited to attend this free lecture.
The lecture will be entitled "Millennial Shifts of Global Christianity."
Dr. Ma has extensive experience in theological and mission education in Asia. Prior to his appointment at OCMS he served as academic dean of the Asian Theological Seminary in the Philippines. Both he, and his wife, Dr. Julie Ma, are graduates of Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. Dr. Wonsuk Ma is the founder of the Asian Pentecostal Society and two international journals: The Asian Journal of Pentecostal Studies and the Journal of Asian Mission. He has represented the Asian Pentecostal community in various international and ecumenical meetings. He has authored and edited seven books on the Old Testament and Pentecostalism, and published extensively in academic journals. Dr. Julie Ma has authored two books and edited one, with many articles published in journals and books.
OCMS was founded in 1983 by an ecumenical network of Christian leaders from the non-Western world for the purpose of providing new models of advanced learning and research, appropriate to the needs of the growing churches of Africa, Asia and Latin America.
