A format to fit your needs

At AGTS, we believe the resident experience has enduring value. Theological education is enhanced by the opportunity to build face-to-face mentoring relationships with faculty, to network with peers and other leaders and to be formed in a community environment. But we also are committed to providing flexible course structures to accommodate as many students as possible.

AGTS offers a wide variety of delivery systems to meet the needs of resident students and those who cannot relocate to Springfield. In addition to semester-long, seated classes, students can take advantage of alternative formats such as online courses, evening classes, independent studies, week-long modules and weekend courses.

Continuing Education Options:

1. Distance Learning -
Distance Learning Courses enable individuals to earn credits toward a graduate degree without traveling to any of the participating campuses. Students study selected subjects through a variety of web-based delivery systems that create a seamless interaction between the course instructor
and the students, as well as providing student to student dialogue and peer learning. A limited number of credits in an AGTS degree may be earned through distance learning or directed research (other advanced standing credit may limit the number of allowable
hours).

2. Directed Research -
Directed Research Courses provide students with an opportunity to study selected subjects that they cannot access in the normal AGTS delivery schedules. Working with an assigned faculty member, the student will engage in a variety of learning methodologies to equate the time and energy that would normally be spent in a regular course offering. A limited number of credits in an AGTS degree may be earned through distance learning or directed research (other advanced standing credit may limit the number of allowable hours).

3. Branch Campuses
-
Courses are scheduled at strategic regional locations as well as the resident AGTS campus. Courses are offered in a variety of schedules supported by pre-session and post-session assignments.
