The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) is a 78 hour degree for those planning to enter vocational ministry. Concentration options include:

Master of Arts in Christian Ministries

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministries is a 48-hour degree similar to the M.Div., but lacking the Biblical languages requirements and the concentration options.

Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministries

The Master of Arts in Intercultural Ministries (M.A.I.M.) is a 48-credit degree serving those preparing for multi-cultural ministry in a domestic or foreign context. Students take an intercultural practicum under the guidance of an experienced mentor. The M.A.I.M. allows for up to nine credits of approved courses to be taken by prior approval from a foreign school and integrated into the program at AGTS. Concentration options include:

  • Islamic Studies

Master of Arts in Counseling

AGTS is no longer accepting new students for the Master of Arts in Counseling program leading to state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Prospective students seeking a degree leading to licensure are encouraged to consider Evangel University's Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. The information below applies to students currently enrolled in the program.

The Master of Arts in Counseling offers both licensure (51-60 credits) and non-licensure (42-48 credits) tracks. The licensure track prepares you to become an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). The non-licensure track in Community Mental Health Service (C.M.H.S.T.) prepares you for work in the church and/or public health agencies that do not require licensure. Concentrations options for the licensure track include:

  • Professional Counseling [LPC]
  • Professional Counseling Extended Family Studies [LPCFS]

Master of Arts in Theological Studies

The Master of Arts in Theological Studies (M.A.T.S.) is a 48 hour degree for those who wish to enhance their effectiveness in ministry, including specialized areas such as teaching and church related writing. Concentration options include:

Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) is an in-service doctoral degree for those who already have a M.Div. or equivalency and have acquired three or more years of ministry experience since earning their first graduate degree. Concentration options include:

  • Missional Leadership (General Leadership Track)
  • Military Chaplaincy
  • Women in Leadership
  • Professional Coaching
  • Self-Design Option
  • Biblical Preaching
  • Pastoral Care and Family Ministries (Northwest Branch)

Doctor of Missiology

The Doctor of Missiology (D.Miss.) degree is an in-service program for those with a master's degree in an appropriate missiological or theological discipline and with more than two years of intercultural ministry experience. Recognizing the priority of the Holy Spirit's person and power in accomplishing the mission of God (Missio Dei), the D.Miss. enhances missionary practice, prepares students to teach missiology at any level, builds a foundation for training future missionaries and equips leaders for compassion ministry. D.Miss students choose between two tracks:

  • Intercultural Studies
  • Christian Relief and Development

Doctor of Philosophy in Intercultural Studies

The Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies (Ph.D./ICS) degree is an in-service program for those with a master's degree in an appropriate theological and missiological discipline and with at least two years of intercultural ministry experience. The Ph.D/ICS program recognizes the priority of the Holy Spirit's person and power in accomplishing the mission of God (Missio Dei) and creates an environment in which students can experience the kind of learning that connects them more deeply with the Spirit's work in mission and allows them to focus their program and research on the application of integrative learning in missional praxis. Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies students choose between two tracks:

  • Missiological Studies
  • Christian Relief and Development

Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Interpretation and Theology

The Ph.D. in Biblical Interpretation and Theology (Ph.D./BTH) will equip and empower Pentecostal scholars to lead the global church through creative teaching, writing and other missional endeavors. This highly selective program will challenge participants to integrate the highest levels of intellectual achievement with biblically focused, contextual praxis. Concentrations include:

  • New Testament Interpretation and Biblical Theology
  • Old Testament Interpretation and Biblical Theology
  • Biblical Exegesis and Systematic Theology
