Alumnus Appointed Head of National Prayer Center

John Maempa (M.A. in Biblical Studies 1975) was appointed head of the National Prayer Center in January 2006.

Maempa plans to increase the number of volunteers and continue building the Satellite Prayer Center network around the country to respond to the thousands of calls that come to 1-800-4-PRAYER.

“If we are to see God’s work in this world increase,” said Maempa, “our prayers must increase. Prayer moves the hand of God, enabling us to accomplish things we could never do on our own. My burden is that a passion for prayer will grow across our Fellowship. Prayer is where the power lies to effect change for Kingdom purposes.”
