Second Annual Alumni Phonathon a Great Success!
On September 13 and 14, 32 students called alumni to raise support
for the AGTS Alumni Annual Fund.
This fund provides the tools necessary to build a quality learning
environment—computers and printers in the student lab;
video projection systems in the classrooms; and books, periodicals
and other resources in the library.
In addition, the Annual Fund provides direct and indirect scholarships
for every student. The cost of educating each AGTS student is
over $12,000 annually. Tuition covers approximately $8,000 of
this amount. The rest comes from general and district council
support, monthly church donations and alumni contributions.
We appreciate each alumnus who made a commitment this year,
as we were able to exceed last year’s phonathon giving
by over 32%. The total amount committed this year was $14,750!
If you have yet to make a contribution, you can use your credit
card online at www.agts.edu/partners or contact the Development
Office at (417) 268-1012.
Representatives for Church Partnerships Join
Development Team
 |
| Reverend Allen and Darlene Palm |
Reverend Allen and Darlene Palm recently joined
the AGTS development team to serve as representatives for church
partnerships. Al and Darlene will support and strengthen the
partnerships between the seminary and Assemblies of God churches
around the country.
They served as pastors for 28 years at Arvin Assembly of God
in Arvin, California. Prior to his pastorate at the church, Al
was a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force.
In 1958, Al was devastated when he did not qualify for the Air
Force’s pilot training program. After he had spent an intense
period seeking God, the Air Force changed its position and accepted
him. Since that time, Matthew 6:33 has been a hallmark verse
for Al as he has seen God move continuously in his life and in
his ministry. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well” (NIV).
They have three children, one of whom, Dr. Melody Palm, serves
as assistant professor of psychology and counseling at AGTS.
AGTS is grateful for the wealth of wisdom, experience and love
Al and Darlene bring to the Development Office. Churches who
partner with the seminary will experience that love as they get
to know the Palms.
