Press Releases: Dr. Peter Kuzmic to Speak at 34th Annual AGTS Commencement

Springfield, Mo.—April 9, 2007—Dr. Peter Kuzmic will deliver the keynote address at the 34th annual commencement of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at Central Assembly of God, 1301 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, Mo. The seminary will award degrees, including Doctor of Ministry, Master of Divinity and Master of Arts, to 107 graduates from 31 states and six countries.

Dr. Peter Kuzmic will deliver the keynote address. Dr. Kuzmic is the founding president of the
Evangelical Theological Seminary in Zagreb/Osijek, Croatia, the first evangelical theological college in Eastern Europe with a graduate program. He is also a professor of world missions and European studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a missionary-at-large for Assemblies of God World Missions. A native of Slovenia and a citizen of Croatia in former Yugoslavia, Dr. Kuzmic is the foremost evangelical scholar in Eastern Europe and an internationally recognized authority on the subjects of a Christian response to Marxism and Christian ministry in post-Communist contexts.

A public Doctor of Ministry symposium will be held on Friday, May 4, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. in the
AGTS chapel. Graduates will present summaries of their doctoral projects which embody field research from the participants’ own ministry contexts. Topics include:

  • racial reconciliation
  • the role of the outgoing pastor
  • Native American marital communication skills
  • child sexual abuse awareness in Honduras, Central America
  • promoting longevity in the careers of young ministers
  • ministering to Mormons
  • and more (past projects are available in the AGTS library)

AGTS is one of the world’s leading Pentecostal seminaries. Classes are offered in Springfield, Mo.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Kirkland, Wash.; and Phoenixville, Pa. A variety of flexible class formats include online classes, independent studies, week-long modules and weekend classes.
