Springfield, Mo.— April 8, 2005—On Saturday, April
30, 2005, at 2:30 p.m. the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary
will graduate the largest class since its inception in 1972.
One hundred forty-eight degrees, including Doctor of Ministry,
Master of Divinity and Master of Arts, will be awarded during
commencement to 146 graduates from 31 states, 11 countries and
Puerto Rico.
Dr. Sheri Benvenuti will deliver the keynote address at the
32nd Annual Commencement at Central Assembly of God, Springfield,
Missouri. Dr. Benvenuti serves as vice president of Student Life
at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California. She received
her Ph.D. in Social Ethics from the University of Southern California.
In her years of ministry, she has served as youth pastor, associate
pastor and evangelist. Previous to joining the faculty and administration
of Vanguard University, she served as vice president of LIFE
Bible College in San Dimas, California. She is an editorial board
member for Pentecostal/Charismatic Churches of North America,
an advisory board member of the Lewis Wilson Institute for Pentecostal
Studies and co-director of the Center for Women’s Studies
at Vanguard University. Her scholarly work has focused on a Pentecostal
Ethic of Reconciliation. She is a credentialed minister in the
General Council of the Assemblies of God.
Highlights of this year’s graduation activities include
a public Doctor of Ministry symposium on Friday, April 29, 2005,
at 12:30 p.m. in the AGTS chapel. Graduates will present summaries
of their doctoral projects which embody field research from the
participants’ own ministry contexts.
