AGTS News: AGTS to host Praxis Session with professor Beth Grant

AGTS will host seminary and Evangel students in the Student Lounge for a Praxis session with Dr. Beth Grant on Friday, April 8, 2016.

During the one hour session, attendees can relax with a cup of coffee and listen as the AGTS associate professor of intercultural education shares her story. Time will be allotted for Q & A afterwards. The meeting will conclude with worship and prayer.

Dr. Grant has served as faculty and guest lecturer in missions and cross-cultural communication in seminaries and universities in India, South Africa, Europe and the United States. She and her husband serve as co-directors of Project Rescue, a ministry to survivors of sex trafficking. As a steering committee member of the Faith Alliance Against Slavery and Trafficking, Dr. Grant developed and co-edited Hands That Heal, an international curriculum to train caregivers of trafficking survivors. She also authored Courageous Compassion: Confronting Social Injustice God’s Way. She served as chairperson for The Network for Women in Ministry for the U.S. from 1999–2010. In 2009 she became the first woman elected to the Executive Presbytery of the National AG USA.

First held in Fall 2015, Praxis sessions are designed to provide students with the opportunity to personally engage with some of the most influential ministry practitioners in the world today.
