Dr. Joseph Dimitrov will deliver the second of three lectures in the 2013 J. Philip Hogan Lectureship Series on Thursday, October 10 at 2 p.m. in the William J. Seymour Chapel at AGTS. The lecture will be streamed live on this page and is entitled "The Spirit of the Lord or the Lord of the Spirit: European Pentecostal Theological Implications Seen through Luke's Theological Scheme of the Jordan Baptism Event." The public is invited.
He delivered the first of these lectures on September 26—"Results Outgrowing the Vision: Early Assemblies of God Missionary Endeavors in Europe." The series is entitled "The Manifest Activity of the Spirit in Missions,

The last lecture by Dr. Dimitrov is scheduled for December 5, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the William J. Seymour Chapel at AGTS.
Dr. Dimitrov currently serves as president of Continental Theological Seminary (CTS) in Brussels, Belgium. Raised in Bulgaria during the Cold War era, Dr. Dimitrov’s Christian journey was birthed and shaped living under totalitarian rule. His earliest pastoral ministry was in Sofia, Bulgaria while he also earned a B.A. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering at the Sofia Technical University. His theological education was from Continental Theological Seminary and his Ph.D. was conferred by the Evangelical Theological Faculty at Leuven (Belgium). His dissertation was titled: “A Comparative Historical and Theological Analysis of the Development and Endurance of the Bulgarian Baptist and Pentecostal Evangelicals up to 1989.”
Dr. Dimitrov’s academic works include A Message from Corinth, published in 1998 by CMN Publishing in Bourgas, Bulgaria, as well as extensive lectures in Europe and in the United States at Lee University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Charlotte, NC). He has served as the Head Translator and General Editor from the Bulgarian Open Bible (New Testament) and is the General Editor of “Old Testament for the Minor Prophets and the Book of Ruth” in the Bulgarian Open Bible. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Theological Commission for the World Assemblies of God Fellowship.
Previous to his service as president of CTS, Dr. Dimitrov served as president of Sofia Bible Institute in Sofia, Bulgaria, and as Rector (president) of the Evangelical Theological University in Bulgaria.

2013-2014 J. Philip Hogan Professor of World Missions at AGTS. The J. Philip Hogan Chair of World Missions is an endowed professorship that honors the missionary leadership of this distinguished former executive director of AGWM. As a partnership between AGTS and AGWM, it calls on today's missionaries and scholars to continue in the heritage of thoughtful, incisive and Spirit-led missiology that Brother Hogan's ministry left us. A leading missiologist is invited annually to fill the chair in order to explore new dimensions in missiology through teaching, research and writing. Special thanks are due to AGWM, the Hyllberg Memorial Fund, Philip and Virginia Hogan and others who have contributed to the endowment of the Chair.
