Description: Accessed through EBSCOhost, Academic Search Premier is a multi-disciplinary database that provides full text for more than 4,600 publications, including nearly 3,900 peer-reviewed titles. In addition to the full text, indexing and abstracts are provided for more than 8,500 journals. This database offers information in nearly every area of academic study including: social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies and more. Examples of titles offered in Academic Search Premier include: American Historical Review, American Journal of Political Science, American Libraries, American Sociologist, British Journal of Psychology, British Journal of Sociology, Central European History, Contemporary Literature, Early American Literature, Journal of Social Psychology, Library Journal, Social Forces, Sociological Review, Theological Studies, Women's Studies, etc. In addition to journal coverage, Academic Search Premier provides full text information from a variety of source-types such as scholarly monographs. Description: One of the online databases that can be accessed through EBSCOhost, ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials is the full text version of the ATLA (American Theological Library Association) Religion Database, the premier index of journal articles, book reviews, and collections of essays in all fields of religion. This database provides a collection of major religious and theology journals selected by religion scholars in the United States. This includes more than 575,000 article citations from more than 1,679 journals (560 currently indexed), more than 239,000 essay citations from over 16,800 mulit-author works, more than 530,000 book review citations, and a growing number of mulitmedia citations. ATLA Religion Database with ATLASerials contains full text journals representing all major religious faiths, denominations and language groups. Coverage in this collection begins in 1949 although indexing for some journal titles extends back into the nineteenth century. Full text is provided for more than 294,000 electronic articles and book reviews, from more than 150 journals selected by leading religion scholars in the United States.

Description: Built from the Biblical Archaeological Society's 34 years as a leading publisher in the field of Biblical Archaeology, the archive contains information in the areas of religion, archaeology, Bible, history, anthropology, western civilization, Near Eastern Studies, and philosophy. The archive contains all of the editorial material of every issue of Biblical Archaeology Review, Bible Review, and Archaeology Odyssey. This includes more than 50 issues now out-of-print and not available in paper copies. About 18,000 photos and images are included, as well as 5,500 articles. The BAS Archive also provides access to the following books: Revised Standard Version of the Bible, Ancient Israel, The Rise of Ancient Israel, Aspects of Monotheism, The Search for Jesus, Feminist Interpretations of the Bible.

The Biblical context of each image is explained in extensive captions written by world-renowned scholars.

Description: Accessed through EBSCOhost, Child Development & Adolescent Studies, produced by NISC, is today?s source for references to the current and historical literature related to growth and development of children through the age of 21. This database includes all of the issues of Child Development Abstracts & Bibliography from 1927 - 2001 previously published by the Society for Research in Child Development plus new coverage on Child Rights and welfare issues. Book reviews and abstracts from hundreds of journals and a bibliography of thousands of technical reports, books, book chapters, theses and dissertations covering biomedical and social sciences worldwide are indexed. Description: Collection of doctoral dissertations and master's theses. This database represents the work of authors from over 1,000 graduate schools and universities, adding some 47,000 new dissertations and 12,000 new theses each year. Materials included range from the first U.S. dissertation accepted in 1861 to those accepted as recently as last semester.
Each record in the database includes a bibliographic citation and an abstract. Citations for dissertations published from 1980 forward include a 350-word abstract written by the author while citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include a 150-word abstract. The full text for nearly two million of these titles is available for purchase in paper, electronic, and microform formats. In addition, institutional subscribers receive online access to the complete file of dissertations in digital format starting with titles published from 1997 forward. This means that a 24-page preview of the dissertation is available in electronic format for no charge and that it is possible, for a fee, for individual students to download an electronic version of the entire dissertation.

Description: eHRAF is a collection of ethnography. It covers selected cultures from around the world and contains information on all aspects of cultural and social life. It is a compilation of mostly descriptive documents written by anthropologists, sociologists, other social scientists, travelers, and missionaries. The unique feature of the HRAF system is that every paragraph of every source is marked by subject using over 760 subject categories (OCM-Outline of Cultural Materials), so that information can be rapidly retrieved.

In addition to education-related journals, sources include research papers, dissertations, conference proceedings, literature reviews, reports, syllabi, and curricula. Description: The online version of the National Periodical Library's print index Guide to Social Science and Religion in Periodical Literature. Every item in the Guide is indexed by subject, and each entry includes the name of the periodical in which it was published, date, volume and issue numbers, page number, author, and the approximate number of words in the article. The full contents of each published index since 1993 is available on the website. This same information is also available through a search engine, which provides users the ability to search by key words and phrases or by subject and subheading.

Description: This database from the Flower Pentecostal Heritage Center in Springfield includes a collection of Pentecostal periodicals from the early 1900s to the present in PDF format. Periodicals include the Pentecostal Evangel (1913-1969), Latter Rain Evangel, Leaves of Healing, Word and Work, Word and Witness, and several others. Also included are General Council Minutes and Reports and audio recordings of interviews with significant A/G leaders and missionaries about the early years of the denomination.

The database contains more than 150,000 searchable full text articles from 70 journals published by the American Psychological Association and 8 from allied organizations. Description: An American Psychological Association (APA) database that can be accessed through EBSCOhost, PsycINFO contains approximately three million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations and technical reports, all in the field of psychology. Journal coverage, which spans from the 1800s to the present, includes international material selected from around 2,500 periodicals in dozens of languages. More than 60,000 records are added each year and 98% of the covered material is peer-reviewed. Description: RIM Online is a database from the American Theological Library Association (ATLA) that replaces the print index version (1981-1998) with the same name. RIM indexes and abstracts project reports and theses from over 50 Doctor of Ministry programs accredited by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada and also includes links to records of works from schools that participate in the Theological Research Exchange Network. The database covers the years 1981-present and is updated quarterly.

In the spring of 2011, the Census Bureau announced that the edition that year would be the last one produced at government expense. ProQuest has now taken on responsibility for updating and releasing this publication. The ProQuest online edition includes a number of enhancements including line-item access to tables, monthly updates, and table-specific capabilities for narrowing results by source, data date, subject, or type of data breakdown.

Description: The World Christian Database (WCD) includes detailed information on 9,000 Christian denominations and on religions in every country of the world. Extensive data are available on 238 countries and 13,000 ethnolinguistic peoples, as well as on 5,000 cities and 3,000 provinces. The WCD incorporates the core data from the World Christian Encyclopedia (WCE) and World Christian Trends (WCT). However, statistics in the WCD constitute a significant update of the data published in WCE/WCT in 2001. WCD is an initiative of the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
