Melody D. Palm is the director of Counseling Programs and professor of counseling psychology at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. A licensed Assemblies of God minister with local church pastoral experience, she has a burden for the development of effective women leaders and ministers. Dr. Palm has been part of the full-time faculty at AGTS since 2000, and teaches in the counseling and practical theology departments as well as in the D.Min. Program. She is a visiting professor to the Asia Theological Center for Evangelism & Missions (ATCEM) in Singapore.
Dr. Palm co-authored threes chapters in the Hands that Heal: International Curriculum to Train Caregivers of Trafficking Survivors, in cooperation with the Faith Alliance Against Slavery & Trafficking (FAAST). She contributed a chapter titled: We Have a Scary Secret: Stopping Sexual Abuse in the Family for The Church Leaders Resource Book for Mental Health and Social Problems, published by Oxford University Press. Some of her other writings include: Desires in Conflict: Hope and Healing for Individuals Struggling with Same-Sex Attraction and Ministering to the Abused. She was a contributor to Competencies for Clergy and Other Pastoral Ministers in Addressing Alcohol and Drug Dependence and the Impact on Family Members, published by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Dr. Palm is a licensed clinical psychologist and actively involved in clinical practice. She is registered psychological health service provider and approved expert witness for the courts. She is the founder and director of Still Waters Counseling Center in Springfield, Missouri.
